About AUJS
The Australasian Union of Jewish Students (AUJS) (Hebrew: התאחדות הסטודנטים היהודים באוסטרליה וניו-זילנד) is the federal body for Jewish student societies at university campuses in Australia and New Zealand.
We provide a wide variety of political, social and educational activities based on our four pillars – Judaism, activism, pluralism and Zionism. Our famous Israel Programs send hundreds of students to Israel each year.
We operate on over 30 campuses in eight regions across Australia and New Zealand. We are affiliated with the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS).
History
AUJS was founded in 1946 at Sydney University. We now operate in eight regions and over 30 campuses across Australia and New Zealand. For detailed information on previous executive teams (dating back to 1990), take a look at Our Past Executives.

Executives
AUJS operates at campus, regional and national levels. The many executives, together with administrative and support staff are responsible for all AUJS activities.
- National executive - makes broad policy decisions; represents AUJS within the community; organises Israel Programs and national conferences; facilitates communication between regions; and produces and distributes resources and publications.
- Regional executives - run off-campus functions for people from all campuses; represent the voice of Jewish students in their region; co-ordinate between campuses and provide assistance to the smaller campuses.
- Campus executives - host a variety of events and functions ranging from social to educational to cultural; implement policy on campus; raise awareness of off-campus events.
National elections are held in September each year, as stipulated in the National Constitution. Regional and Campus executives are elected annually from September through November. All campus members are entitled to vote at their respective campus elections.
