AUJS’ 22nd Annual Political Training Seminar concluded on 9 September 2020 and once again hosted an all-star line-up of politicians, lobbyists and insiders. With the conference moved from Parliament House to Zoom, student leaders were able to hear from a variety of speakers from across Australia. 

Speakers included Mathias Cormann, Simon Birmingham, Richard Marles, Jim Chalmers, Yaron Finkelstein, Sally Cray, Alex Polson, Adam Bandt, Jane Hume, Tanya Plibersek, Tim Wilson, Penny Wong, Andrew Hastie, Mark Dreyfus, James Paterson, Josh Burns and Dave Sharma.

This was the first year the conference was held online, and it was a resounding success. The calibre of speakers Jewish student were able to question and engage with was unparalleled. Topics included the Middle East Conflict, changes to higher education funding, Australia’s role in the Indo-Pacific, and much more. 

The conference was held over the 7th and 9th of September for over 40 young Jewish student leaders from Australia and New-Zealand.
