AUJS Political Training Seminar (PTS) presents an unparalleled opportunity for AUJS students to engage with Australia’s political, media and community leaders right in the nation's capital, as well as attend invaluable skills-based training sessions.

This year, PTS will be held at Parliament House in Canberra from Monday, 14th March until Wednesday, 16th March, 2016.

PTS 2016 will include:

- Talks from senior Parliamentarians, journalists, lobbyists and community leaders

- Political skills training

- Tours of Parliament House and key sites around Canberra

- Opportunities to meet and network with politically interested Jewish students from across Australia and New Zealand

Applications are required as space is limited on PTS. Please apply here.

Everyone is encouraged to apply, whether you spend every day living and breathing politics or cannot remember who you voted for in the last election.

You will be notified within two weeks of your application as to the status of your participation. Please do not book flights or transportation to Canberra until you hear back from us.

Applications close on Sunday, 28th February 2016.

Please note that all Melbourne and Sydney participants must be available on the afternoon of Sunday, 6th March, 2016 for a compulsory pre-departure event.

** ** ** DETAILS ** ** **

Cost: AUD$170.00 per person. The ticketing link will be sent to successful applicants.

This cost includes: all accommodation, all transportation within Canberra, fully Kosher catered meals, and all other activities.

Subsidies: Further means-tested subsidies are available for the conference. For a confidential conversation on subsidies please contact the AUJS Executive Director, Liraz Poorian at ed@aujs.com.au. Subsidy requests will not be accepted after 21st February, 2016.

Transport to Canberra: Participants flying to Canberra must arrive at Canberra International Airport by 10.00 AM on Monday, 14th March 2016.

An AUJS bus will be departing from the airport in Canberra at 10.00 AM sharp, as the conference starts at 10:30 AM. Participants who do not arrive in time for the AUJS bus will need to find alternative transport to the hotel.

Att - New South Wales Participants:

If there is sufficient demand, we will be chartering a bus for NSW participants to and from the conference.  This will involve an extra cost (much less than a flight) for the participant.  Please indicate on your application whether you would be interested in traveling on an AUJS hired coach.

For many years, PTS has received the outstanding and consistent support of the JCA and the JCA Dave Burnett Leadership Fund, which was established to honour the memory of one of our community's most passionate leaders, and a rising star in politics. 

Without the strong support of the JCA and the Dave Burnett Leadership Fund, the Union would not be able to run PTS with the same empowering impact.
