Volunteer Nepal Program

Volunteering in Nepal

Volunteer Nepal Program run by JewishAid and AUJS is in association with Tevel B'Tzedek (Hebrew for 'The Earth In Justice). This is an internationally recognised Israeli-based non-government organisation for social and environmental justice. Under the banner of Tevel B'Tzedek, AUJS and JewishAid are offering a one month volunteering immersion program for Jewish students in Nepal.

Volunteering in Nepal During the program participants will intern with local human rights, social justice or environmental organisations. The program includes:
  • one week orientation
  • touring of Kathmandu
  • two weeks of intensive volunteer work in a range of areas
  • plus much, much more!
In addition to the volunteer internships like this, Tevel B'Tzedek also gives participants the following opportunities:
  • study of globalisation and its effect on developing countries
  • study of Nepalese language and culture
  • study of Jewish sources and traditions on social, economic and environmental justice, from the prophets until contemporary thinkers, and a discussion of our place as Jews and Israelis in the struggle for a better world
Interns will be placed in organisations / projects according to their interests and skills.
