Live and breathe Israel for FIVE months!

AUJS Aviv is the ultimate program for those wanting to travel and live in Israel for an extended period and in true Israeli style. Program runs from 30th January 2013 to 30th June, 2014. 

Participants will cover the country through a series of formal and informal seminars – all traversing different experiences and aspects of Israeli culture. They will sightsee and learn Hebrew in Jerusalem, camp out and learn survival skills in the desert, volunteer in Tel Aviv and the Arava region, hike from the Mediterranean to the Kinneret, discover Kibbutz culture down south, and experience the Jewish festivals and memorial days the Israeli way. 

AUJS Aviv also includes a Jewish heritage tour of Eastern Europe to Poland and Prague.

There are also free weekends and a chofesh ('holiday') period for Pesach during the program, where participants can visit family and friends and travel the country on their own.

On AUJS Aviv, participants gain and independence and sense of self and responsibility as they learn to adapt to different environments and master the many social, physical and emotional challenges that arise along the way.

Participants on AUJS Aviv are joined by a British group of students from the United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA). In 2012, Aviv welcomed participants from the UK, South Africa and Switzerland. The program is an incredible opportunity to make life long international friendships!

AUJS Aviv is a MASA approved program. All participants will be eligible for a $1000.00 USD program grant, or may take advantage of generous means-tested funding of up to $5000.00 USD. To receive a MASA grant or be eligible for a MASA needs-based scholorship, applicants must complete the online application form no later then 60 days prior to the start of the program.

AUJS Aviv 2013 Fun-Run Fundraiser!

This year AUJS Aviv is embarking on a wonderful challenge that will not only help future aviv participants but will also enrich our experience over the next four months. We the aviv participants of 2013 are having the most incredible and enriching experience here in israel, we see the importance and value of spending time in Israel. We want everyone to be fortunate enough to be able to have this experience, What we propose is a 5 month long marathon, raising money to fund future aviv participants! At every destination we travel we pledge to run 20km as a collective, whether that be a week in Jerusalem or one night in Tiberius. Please help our us raise money for this wonderful cause!
