AUJS Academy is AUJS’s flagship program. Successfully running for over 48 years, this incredible trip is guaranteed to be the experience of a lifetime!
From the hustle and bustle of Jerusalem city streets to the serenity of the Galil, from the colourful Tel Aviv nightlife to the beauty of the desert, and from Middle Eastern culture to the exploring the historical past of the land, AUJS Academy takes participants to all of the ‘must see’ as well as ‘off the beaten track’ sights that Israel has to offer!
On AUJS Academy, participants will spend time in the cities of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Eilat, Tiberius and Tzfat. They will visit prominent sites including the Old City of Jerusalem; Masada; Independence Hall; the Supreme Court and Rabin Square, and experience the Bedouin, Druze and Kibbutz cultures. They will discover the natural wonders of Israel by floating in the Dead Sea, snorkelling in the Eilat reefs and hiking through the Golan. They will also enjoy volunteering at different Israeli organisations, taking in the incredibly fun Israeli nightlife, meetingIsraelis their own age and making lifelong friends.
Special Interest Week
Included in AUJS Academy is our Special Interest Week providing participants with the opportunity to intimately explore an exciting aspect of Israeli life. This year, the options for Special Interest Week are:
- Gadna – Israeli ‘boot camp’! – This five day Israeli Army simulation experience is a physically and mentally challenging program, where participants will learn about the many facets of the Israeli army.
- Desert Experience – sleep and explore under the Negev stars! – Leave the many luxuries of civilisation behind, learn survival skills and enjoy the beauty of the Negev with hiking, rappelling and camping in an unforgettable journey into the desert wilderness.
- Politics for Peace – go behind the scenes and explore the political issues facing the region today! – Visit the political hotspots of Sderot and the West Bank and learn about Israel’s determination for political stability and its ongoing struggle for peace and security.
There is one free weekend during the program and two free days where participants can visit family and friends.
This program is recommended for school-leavers to age 22.
Scholarships will be available on a means-tested basis.
Don't miss out on this fabulous experience!
