Memorial Ceremony for The Babi Yar Massacre

Memorial Ceremony for The Babi Yar Massacre

With sombre humility we invite you to the inaugural memorial event for the Babi Yar Massacre and the unveiling of a monument in honour of the victims.

The event will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, 28 September 2014 at the Memorial Gardens in Waverley Park, adjacent to Council Chambers on Bondi Road.

Babi Yar was the scene of one of the largest and most notorious mass executions of Jews during the Holocaust. It is regarded as a seminal

moment in the history of the Holocaust, and indeed of the Jewish people. It is also an enduring symbol of the unique suffering of Soviet Jewry.

Please see the attached invitation for event and RSVP details and a brief history of the Babi Yar Massacre.

It is our sincere and solemn hope that by remembering this event and the suffering of those who endured it, we will foster a greater

understanding of Russian-speaking Jewry in this country and promote the ideals of education and harmony.

To RSVP or for media enquires please contact Alex Ryvchin, Public Affairs Director, Executive Council of Australian Jewry,aryvchin@ecaj.org.au, (02) 8353 8505.
