Following the Academy and Achshav programs, AUJS is offering an exceptional opportunity to visit Poland.
The Poland Heritage Tour (PHT) program starts and ends in Israel and is a unique opportunity to visit Poland in a young-adult group environment.
In Poland, the PHT program focuses on the experiences of Polish Jewry throughout its history.
The importance of Poland to our past is significant and our participants are exposed to its entire history.
The PHT experience begins by exploring the immense and beautiful Jewry of pre-War Poland, dating back 800 years.
Following, we examine the years of the Holocaust and visit Jewish ghettos, death and labor camps and other significant sites.
Finally, AUJS PHT spends time getting to know contemporary Polish Jewry that is re-establishing itself across many of the major cities in Poland.
We meet our peer student organisation - Polish Union of Jewish Students (PUJS) as a part of this experience.
Important to PHT are its madrichim. To facilitate the Poland experience, AUJS selects two, highly experienced Australasian leaders.
An exceptional Israeli tour-guide also travels to Poland with PHT. Whilst in Israel, the PHT program deals with preparation for the Poland experience and on return,
deals with processing and concluding the many concepts and issues that the PHT program covers.
PHT is an educationally focused Poland experience.
AUJS believes in the strength of the PHT group environment and encourages every Jewish young adult to visit Poland with AUJS.
