‘From Silicon Valley to Melbourne’ will feature Jodie Auster (General Manager at UberEats Australia) and Rachael Neumann (Board Director at StartupAus).

Rachael is a strategic advisor to a number of founders and early-stage companies, a mentor in Startmate Accelerator and a Board Director at StartupAus. Notably, Rachael was the Managing Director of Eventbrite Australia, a case Team Leader at Bain & Company in Silicon Valley and a founding member of LaunchVic. Rachael holds an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and two Masters degrees from Columbia University.

Jodie is the Uber Eats General Manager for Australia and New Zealand. Jodie started her professional career as an Emergency doctor, completed an MBA at Melbourne Business School and then spent two years at Bain & Company. Jodie worked as the GM Operations at Scoopon before moving to Silicon Valley in 2013 and working at Thumbtack as Director of Customer Operations, and later Vice President of People Operations. 

Jodie met her partner Rachael during an MBA semester abroad at NYU in New York in 2008. They live in Melbourne with their 6yo son Miles and their 3yo daughter Juliet.

EMPOWER is an informal Q&A event series for university students focused on start-ups, social enterprises, and career pathways outside of climbing the 'corporate ladder'. The core objectives of the series are to: Engage, Inspire, Empower.
