EMPOWER: The Change Makers

EMPOWER: The Change Makers

EMPOWER is back for its second event of the year!

As EMPOWER has grown and developed, the themes of social impact and justice have become central to the vision. We believe it is pivotal to celebrate and explore the socially conscious businesses that are emerging all over the world.

With this in mind, EMPOWER presents ‘The Change Makers’, which will feature Lillian Kline (Strategy at SmallGiants) and Nick Pearce (Co-Founder at HoMie).

Lillian embodies the true essence of a changemaker and is an integral part of strategy at Small Giants. Established in 2007, Small Giants use business as a major tool for positive social and environmental impact while leading the community toward empathy and a new economy. Lillian has previously worked as a corporate lawyer, speechwriter to a federal politician and as Development Director at Stand Up. She was the first Director of the Pathways to Politics Program for Women at Melbourne University and has a Masters of Law in Human Rights.

Nick Pearce is the co-founder of HoMie, and is an emerging 'change maker' whose work provides a tangible pathway for people experiencing homelessness. HoMie is a wholly ethical and sustainable Australian made brand with a flagship store in Fitzroy. The team have brought their vision to life and is Australia’s first ever retail clothing store to provide brand-new clothing and retail training to young people experiencing homelessness.

Take a break from your studies and come down to The Whitehouse, St Kilda for canapes and drinks, followed by a Q&A that is not to be missed.
