Iran Campaign - What Are They Really Up To?Time is running out to prevent Iran from attaining the capacity to develop nuclear weapons. With extensive nuclear infrastructure already in place, it could be a matter of months before Iran is in a position to threaten the West with weapons of mass destruction. In 2002, Iranian dissidents revealed that Teheran had been operating a clandestine nuclear program for over 15 years at secret facilities in Arak and Natanz. A signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, these activities placed Iran in clear violation of international law. In August 2004, the Iranian regime announced that it had broken the seals imposed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and was resuming the process of uranium enrichment. In September 2005, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) declared Iran in non-compliance with its international obligations and called on the regime to refrain from all further nuclear research. The regime refused to obey the order and in 2006 imposed a total ban on UN inspections. In response, the IAEA resolved the refer the issue to the UN security council. Scared? Consider this: In October last year, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed a Conference at Teheran University calling for Israel to be ‘wiped off the map.’ In the same forum, he denied the existence of the Holocaust and said that a world without America and Zionism ‘was attainable.’ The intention is there. And the capacity to match it is not far away. If there was ever a time to act, that time is now.
