Bone Marrow Testing
There are men and women in the Jewish community in Sydney who need bone marrow transplants. Tissue typing is regionally and ethnically specific and so the liklihood of Jewish patients finding a match is highest within the Jewish population. A person who does not receive a transplant typically dies within two years.
You Can Help by Undergoing a Screening Test
Screening tests are held every Sunday between 9-11am at Wolper Jewish Hospital. You can contact them for an appointment. Alternate arrangements to suit you are also possible.
The Screening test involves a small blood donation. If you are unsure of what this involves, you can find out more.
